Nicky Butler and Simon Wilson started their business in the late 1960s, selling jewelry in the Portobello Road market in London. By the early 70s, they had opened their own store in Fulham Road, selling their own line of reproduction pieces. Soon they developed an international following! Butler and Wilson overturned attitudes toward fake jewels and created an entirely new phenomenon! By the 80s, they were creating highly definitive pieces of extravagant jewelry that was needed for that generation. Butler and Wilson now have pieces featured in the Victoria and Albert Museum and have created designs for celebrities such as Armani and Faye Dunaway.
