One of a Kind Velvet Haute Couture From Venice

This scarf pictured here is a one of a kind piece that can only be found inside the Keith Lipert Gallery. The artist who creates these fabulous scarves began her career in fabric design in the world of theater and interiors. After a childhood traveling through the Middle and Far East with her parents, she then began studying costume design at the School of Decorative Arts in Nice where she took lessons in rare skills such as faux marbling.

While designing the decor of a medieval hunting lodge in Southern France, she recreated a medieval techique called "gauffrage." By transferring designs carved in wood onto rich colored silks, velvets, and chiffons with gold or silver leaf, she developed the sumptous, glittering fabrics which became her signature style.

Her fabrics have consistently been featured in collections belonging to Christian Lacroz, Bill Blass, and Louis Ferraud to name a few.

With the remnant pieces of these fashion collections, this artist has recently started her own line of scarves and evening wraps. Each piece is handmade, using her personal techniques, brilliantly colored, richly textured, and always imaginative!
