Longwy is made in France by a company that has its origins as early as 1798. They prospered first during the 19th century where they perfected their technique of enamel cloisonne. This labor intensive process requires a number of steps by highly skilled craftsmen. They are known for the subtlety employed for the glaze of their colors and the use of very fine crackles. The past century they also focused on Art Deco motifs for inspiration.
