MANDARIN OCTAGONAL VASE FRENCH LONGWY CERAMICS

This beautiful French ceramic vase was done by Longwy, a French company that began in 1798. They are known for the wonderful glaze on their pieces as well as the use of very fine crackles. They first got their big break haven been commissioned by Napoleon and continued to flourish throughout the 19th century. During the early 20th century they found inspiration in Art Nouveau and Art Deco motigs. Today Longwy continues to create spectacular designs using the very same techniques developed over 200 years ago!
